Iran’s veteran sculptor Mirhassan Arjangnejad died on Tuesday at the age of 101 due to the coronavirus disease.

Arjangnejad was born in Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad. He began sculpting in Gholamreza Rahimzadeh-Arjang’s worksh.

He created 12 sculptures featuring Iran’s great figures including the Persian mythical character Arash the Archer, and Nader Shah, installed in various Iranian cities.

Veteran Artists Institute CEO Seyyed Abbas Azimi offered his condolences to the Iranian art community on the death of the great artist.
