The first handicraft exhibition titled, ‘Ham Namak,’ featuring the artworks of women breadwinners and disabled women opened at Ham Namak Gallery in Tehran on Saturday.
The exhibition opened on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (PBUH), the eighth Imam of Shia Muslims.
Emphasizing that the quality and competitiveness of artworks are the key to success, Mohammadreza Mashhadi, the director of Ham Namak Gallery, expressed hope that “with the growth and prosperity of creative female artists, we will always see such cultural and artistic events in the country.”
The exhibition opened to introduce and support handicrafts by disabled women, Mashhadi added.
Various handicrafts including kilims, Persian carpets, handmade candles, wood sculptures, and resin art are on display at the exhibition.
He also said that it is intended that other branches of the same organization will be opened in Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Khorramabad, and in Kurdestan Province.
