During a meeting between the head of the Section of Central Asia, Caucasus and Crimea in the Oriental Department of the State Hermitage Museum, Pavel Lurje, and the National Museum of Iran’s director, Jebrael Nokandeh, which took place on October 10 at the National Museum of Iran, Nokandeh pointed to the long history of ties between the two museums.

The museums previously held two exhibitions in the 1970s, adding that they intend to cooperate with each other after forty years, he added.

Lurje expressed hope that following these exchanges, the State Hermitage Museum will also host an exhibition of works by the National Museum of Iran.

During this meeting, the two sides discussed the signing of a memorandum of understanding and holding future exhibitions.
