Cinema
-Closure Ceremony of the 40th Fajr Film Festival Friday, February 11, 2022, after eleven days of screening and competition of 22 films in the Iranian Cinema Competition - Simorgh’s Soda was held at the Milad Tower Conference Center in Tehran. "Mehdi's Location" Became the best film of the 40th Fajr Festival.
- A new documentary film revealing Lieutenant-General Qassem Soleimani’s untold stories on Operation Valfajr 8 was released on Monday.The documentary entitled “When the Night-Time Storm Broke” has been directed by Amir Asgari at the School of Hajji Qassem Foundation.
-Iranian drama “Killing the Eunuch Khan” has won the Breakouts Feature Grand Jury Prize at the Slamdance Film Festival in the United States. Directed by Abed Abest, the film is about a serial killer that uses his victims to kill more victims.
-Iranian film's " Hero" directed by Asghar Farhadi failed to win 2022 Academy Awards. "Hero" represented Iran in the international Feature Film categories of the 2022 Academy Awards.
-Iranian feature film, ‘No Choice,’ directed by Reza Dormishian, won an award at the 28th edition of the Vesoul International Film Festival of Asian Cinemas in France.
Fashion
-The 6th Fajr Handicrafts Festival will be held for a week from the 18th of Bahman in the Islamic era section of the National Museum of Iran.
-The Exhibition of Needlework and Crafts from Afghanistan opened Wednesday at the ECO Cultural Institute in Tehran.
Visual Arts
-President Ebrahim Raisi visited an exhibition of the 14th Fajr Festival of Visual Arts on Thursday. Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili and a number of the organizers accompanied Raisi on his visit to “Mirror on the Mirror”, an exhibition of the festival underway at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
-Several Iranian photographers have been honored at the 6th Mahfuz Ullah Memorial International Photo Contest in Bangladesh.
-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted 22 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.
Theater
-A Bulgarian troupe performed a story from the Shahnameh, the epic masterpiece of Persian poet Ferdowsi, in Tehran on Sunday during the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival.
-The unveiling ceremony of the poster of the 27th festival with the slogan "Theater; The Flight of Imaginary Butterflies» held on Tuesday, February 8, at the same time as the dawn of the Islamic Revolution, at the Hamedan Specialized Museum of Children and Excitement in the Hegmataneh historical site.
-The 40th FITF published a guide book to introduce the participating works of the 40th Fadjr International Theater Festival. The book was published in 107 pages.Tayyebeh Forqani is the book’s translator. The book illustration was done by Saeed Shokrnia, Sara Nafar, and Samira Mahanfar.
-“The Bald Soprano”, Romanian-French writer Eugène Ionesco’s debut play, is being performed at Tehran’s Divar-e Chaharom Theater.
- Dariush Nasiri, actor, director, writer, narrator and university lecturer, was introduced and appointed as the first secretary of the Heavenly Soldier Art Festival.
-The video of the performances of the stage section (competitive and non-competitive) of the 40th Fajr International Theater Festival will be broadcast on Iran Theater TV and the Tiwal section website.
-The jury of the stage competition section of the 40th Fadjr International Theater Festival were introduced.
-The Fajr International Theater Festival announced that two troupes from Italy and France have canceled their performances at the Iranian festival due to COVID-19 restrictions for departure from their country of origin.
Music
-The 37th Fajr Music Festival will be held with 170 performances by 1, 690 artists (1,304 male and 386 female artists) from around the world.
-Reza Roigari performed the memorable song "Allah Allah" with the Saba Orchestra in Rudaki.
- In the section of international performances of the 37th Fajr Music Festival, artists from Italy, Egypt, Afghanistan, the Netherlands and Macedonia will perform music for Iranian enthusiasts.
-The concert of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra was held on the third night of the Fajr Music Festival at Vahdat Hall on Friday.
Culture and Literature
- “Iran Between Two Revolutions” by Ervand Abrahamian, an Iranian-American historian of the West Asia, has been published by the Ney publishing house in Tehran. Originally published in 1982, the book has been rendered into Persian by Ahmad Golmohammadi and Mohammad-Ebrahim Fattahi.
-The nominees for the 39th Book of the Year Award of the Islamic Republic of Iran were announced in the "Children and Adolescents" group.
-“Managing Stage Fright: A Guide for Musicians and Music Teachers” by Julie Jaffee Nagel has been published in Persian. Translated by Haleh Arami, the book has been published by Honar-e Musiqi, a Tehran-based publishing house for music books.
- On the occasion of the forty-third anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the school publications will hold a big book reading contest based on the content of the book "Spring Man" for teenagers and adults.
-“The Soviet Mind: Russian Culture under Communism” by Isaiah Berlin has been published in Persian. Mahi is the publisher of the book translated by Reza Rezai.
Architecture
-The 11th Hebitan Webinar was held with the aim of examining the architectural experiences of Affordable Homes and creating public awareness and knowledge.
-The online meeting "In Search of Identity: The Past Along the Future" was held with a speech by Kamran Diba and Mojan Khadem.
