An online exhibition titled, ‘Hazrat-e Hozur,’ featuring photos on mourning ceremonies of Muharram, will be held on the website of the Iranian Academy of Arts.
The exhibition will show 47 artworks of Iranian photographer Mehdi Bitarafan on the subjects of Muharram and its rituals.
The exhibition will be available for photo lovers as of August 14.
The lunar month marks with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hussein (PBUH) and his companions, 14 centuries ago, who were martyred in the modern-day Iraqi city of Karbala by the forces of the second Umayyid caliph, Yazid, on the 10th day of Muharram, which is called Ashura.
