In his ‘Cloudy House’ Haqiqi is showing 23 photos he has taken from various landscapes and written poems of the late contemporary Persian poet Nima Yushij (1895-1960), Honaronline reported.
Nima is considered the father of modern Persian poetry as he founded a new movement that has come to be known as ‘New Poetry’ or ‘Nimaic Poetry’ in Iran. The subjects the accomplished poet covers include war, poverty, tyranny, love and nature.
For the photos to have a richer Nimaic penchant, Haqiqi has taken some of the photos in the northern cities as Nima was born in Yush, a village in northern Mazandaran Province. The show also includes seven silk screen paintings by the artist. Screen printing is a printing technique whereby a mesh is used to transfer ink onto a substrate, except in areas made impermeable to the ink by a blocking stencil.
Haqiqi, 68, is a member of Iranian Graphic Designers Society, Zürich-based Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI), a club for the world’s leading graphic artists and designers, and the Iranian Documentary Filmmakers Society.
He received his post graduate degree in architecture from Tehran University’s Faculty of Art. He has held many solo and group exhibitions in and outside Iran. Viena, Kiev and Saint-Étienne in France are some of the cities that have hosted his exhibits.
The veteran artist has published 12 books including ‘Theater Posters’ (2006), ‘Calligraphic Paintings’ (2004) and ‘The Signs’ (1995).
Golestan Gallery is located in north Tehran at No. 34, Kamasaei St. in Darrous neighborhood.
