A cast of 18 actors is collaborating with director Iman Eskandari in this play, whose full title is “The Persecution and Assassination of Jean-Paul Marat as Performed by the Inmates of the Asylum of Charenton Under the Direction of the Marquis de Sade”.
Eskandari is staging the play in collaboration with the Rudaki Foundation, a major organizer of the Fajr International Theater Festival, whose 36th edition ended yesterday.
The troupe gave two performances during the festival. The play will be on stage for 20 nights.
Earlier in April 2017, “Marat/Sade” was staged by Iranian director Maryam Barzegar.
