Cinema

-Kevin Macdonald’s acclaimed historical drama “The Last King of Scotland” will be reviewed at the cinematheque of the Iranian Artists Forum on Monday evening.

-Five Iranian movies will compete in the Big Sky Documentary Film Festival, which will take place from February 17 to 26 in Missoula, Montana.

-Several movies by Iranian directors will be screened at the 73rd Berlin International Film Festival, which will take place from February 16 to 26.

-The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston (MFAH) has picked Amir Naderi’s 1984 drama “The Runner” to screen at its 30th annual Festival of Films from Iran beginning Saturday.

Visual Arts

-An exhibition displaying posters and paintings opened on Monday at the Abolfazl Aali Gallery of the Art Bureau in Tehran to pay tribute to painter Habibollah Sadeqi.

-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted 30 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.

-Iranian photographers have won top honors at the 4th Victor Polynsky Awards in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.The competition was held in the categories of Open Monochrome, Open Color, Portrait Color, Creative Color, Landscape and Photojournalism.

Music

-Iranian artist Ramin Hosseinpour was chosen as the Best Male Vocalist at the LA Music Video Awards 2022 for his video art of Sculpture.

Theater

Culture and Literature

-“Truth and Existence” by French writer Jean-Paul Sartre has been published in Persian. Translated by Shervin Oliai, the book was published by the Qoqnus publishing house in Tehran.

-A book examining the Baha’i faith as a political organization has won the Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Award in the documentation category.

-The International Storytelling Festival, which opened on Sunday in the central Iranian city of Yazd.

-“How to Be a Friend: An Ancient Guide to True Friendship” by Marcus Tullius Cicero has been published in Persian.

Cheshmeh is the publisher of the book translated by Ali Sayyah.

-Colombia narrator Mauricio Patino Acevedo has taken first place for recounting the fairy tale “The Wise Prince” at the 24th edition of Iran’s International Storytelling Festival.

-Kia Lab and the Hitra Office Building in Iran have won prizes at the BLT Built Design Awards.
