Cinema

-The organizers of the Fajr International Film Festival announced on Saturday that they have received 578 submissions to the international competition of the 41st edition of the event.

-The acclaimed psychological thriller film “Swallow” written and directed by Carlo Mirabella-Davis was reviewed in a session on Sunday evening at Tehran’s Arasbaran Cultural Center.

-Iranian love drama “The Daughter of Iran” has been selected as best feature movie at the 52nd Roshd International Film Festival in Tehran.

- Iranian drama “Dabur” has been picked as the grand jury best short at the 18th edition of the Soria Short Film Fest in Spain.

-The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) will present the International Award to Darius Khondji, the Iranian cinematographer, in March.

Visual Arts

-Mehdi Mohebbipur (Mohebi Pour) from Iran has been picked as the 2022 Environmental Photographer of the Year.

Theater

-The 18th Resistance Theater Festival announced on Saturday plans to organize its international competition in two countries.

-Shahram Noshir, Vali Lotfdookht and Hamidreza Rostamkhani were appointed as the jury members of the 30th Ardabil Province Theater Festival.

-The play "Laro" written and directed by Sina Safavifar went on stage since December 9 at 19:00 in the Nofel Loshato Theater.

-The evaluation of the submitted shows for stage section of the 41st Fadjr International Theater Festival will begin intensively from December 6 to 11.

- An Iranian troupe is performing Spanish dramatist Federico Garcia Lorca's 1945 play ''The House of Bernarda Alba'' at Tehran's Ergan Hall.

Culture and Literature

-Ten narrators from across the world will attend the 24th edition of the International Storytelling Festival to share tales from their folk cultures during the Iranian event.

-The major Tehran-based publisher Ney has recently published American philosopher of science Larry Laudan’s book “Progress and Its Problems: Towards a Theory of Scientific Growth”. Translated by Mohammad-Mehdi Hatef, the book was originally published in 1977.

-Turkish editions of 15 books by Iranian children’s writers were launched on Tuesday at the 39th International Istanbul Book Fair, Turkey.

-A new Persian translation of Albanian writer Ismail Kadare’s 1963 novel “The General of the Dead Army” has been published by Ofoq. Mahmud Gudarzi is the translator of the book, which is the author’s most critically acclaimed novel.

-Iran is to take part in the upcoming MITT, the International travel & hospitality show, slated to be held in Russia in mid-March 2023.

Architecture

-Photos of a unique village school and an outdoor game project from Iran have been awarded at the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in Lisbon.

- The winning project was awarded to Dream Pathway / The connection between the sports recreation park to a cultural street, in Iran, designed by CAATStudio (Kamboozia Architecture and Design Studio).

-Deed Studio was chosen as the winner of the architectural photography awards of the 2022 World Architecture Festival.
