It had informed the members of the library that the halls of the public library did not provide any in-person services during the closure period.

According to the instructions of the National Headquarters for Managing and Fighting the Coronavirus and reducing the spread of the virus in Tehran, specialized halls of the library reopened on May 9, and as of May 16 the library has begun providing service to bibliophiles in its public halls.

In addition, the working hours of the library extended one more hour due to night curfews in Tehran, which start at 10 p.m., and will provide services to the public from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The library’s doors were closed to the public on August 19, 2020, to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, but its staff members have kept going to work.

During the first wave of the coronavirus outbreak, the library was shut from February 28 to June 6, 2020. It reopened partially on June 6, however closing its doors in less than a month as the virus infections and fatalities soared again. It was reopened in early September.
