The directorial debut of Anisi has previously been participated in the International Film Festival of India in Goa, Chennai International Film Festival, and Wales International Film Festival.The cast list also includes Amir Noroozi, Erfan Ebrahimi, Amir Shams and Shaghayegh Shourian.
The film has its first national screening at the 39th Fajr Film Festival, with nominations in five categories including best directing.
‘Mom’ relates the story of a mother as narrated by the family’s youngest child, Ahmed.
Presided by Portuguese actress Maria de Medeiros, the jury panel of the French festival said that the film recaps people of social Italian cinema and Afshar’s performance reminds people of Anna Maria Magnani.
“The Les Rimbaud du Cinema awards have been established to recognize excellence in independent cinematic achievements. We hope these awards will serve not only to honor your work and commitment, but will serve as a celebration to energize the audiences of the world to seek beyond the commercial "popcorn cinema" they find in their local megaplexes,” the official website of the event wrote.
