After successful exhibits in Madrid, Bologna, Berlin, Abu Dhabi, Sofia, Beijing and Cairo, Tehran is the venue for the show titled ‘Illustrations for Children: Italian Excellence’ which includes illustrations by 18 Italian artists, galleryinfo.ir reported.

The high quality of Italian illustrations presented speaks of the development of the art over the last four decades.

Curated by the Italian cultural institutes in Madrid and Berlin, in association with Bologna Children’s Book Fair and Iranian Illustrators Society, the show documents the artistic development of established illustrators such as Roberto Innocenti and Lorenzo Mattotti, while also the young talent of Philip Giordano and Arianna Vairo.

The selected artists have created new formats for picture books. Their creative originality has been recognized in Italy and abroad where they have received various awards and accolades. Works on display, where the world of arts meets the rhythm of narration, are amazing.

For many years, children’s books have been an important part of Italian publishing trade and Bologna Children’s Book Fair is its prestigious international showcase.

In this kind of publishing, illustrations are essential and necessary to tell stories. Children books, in fact, have always woven images and words in a steady and mutual dialogue.

The works will remain on display through May 23 at the gallery located on Fatemi St., next to Laleh Park.
