The animated piece, directed by Mohammad Kheirandish, has been on the silver screens in 2,712 theaters in Russia, selling $1.7 million at the Russian box office in only two weeks.

This ranks ‘Dolphin Boy’ as one of the highest-grossing films of Iranian cinema.

Produced by Owj Arts and Media Organization, the animation took two years for production.

The film which was previously planned to premiere at the 39th edition of Fajr Film Festival, is scheduled to hit big screens at Iranian cinemas from September 2022.

Mohammad-Amin Hamedani, the producer of the film, told the media that the crew has also decided to produce a serial of ‘Dolphin Boy’.
