Cinema

-19 short and semi-length documentaries and 8 feature-length documentaries entered the "documentary" section of the 8th Shahr International Film Festival.

-The Shahr International Film Festival announced the official lineup for its eighth edition, which will take place in Tehran from July 18 to 22.

-The Munich Cinema Iran Festival has announced its 2022 program will begin by screening “Killing the Eunuch Khan” on July 13.

-Iranian short drama “Middle Eastern Stories: Father” was selected as best film in the International Horizons section of the 16th River Film Festival in Padova, Italy.

-The Iranian filmmaker Kaveh Daneshmand’s first feature film is among the winners from the 55th Karlovy Vary International Film Festival’s Eastern Promises industry section.

-The Iranian animation ‘Dolphin Boy’ ranked second at the Russian box office. The animated piece, directed by Mohammad Kheirandish, has been on the silver screens in 2,712 theaters in Russia, selling $1.7 million at the Russian box office in only two weeks.

-The 13th Farabi International Award (FIA) wrapped up in Tehran, Iran on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

-Iranian feature film “Leila’s Brothers” directed by Saeed Roustayi won Honorable Mention from the 39th edition of Munich International Film Festival.

-The poster of the third cultural and artistic festival "Fardakht" with the theme of designing and sewing Iranian and Islamic clothes was unveiled.

Visual Arts

-The book "Fish and Man" with poems by Parisa Sighi and photos by 17 Iranian photographers and 21 foreign photographers was published this July in the publishing house without.

Theater

-The actors and crew of "Khane Kharab" show, written by Reza Dadavi and directed by Mohammad Reza Pourhakimi, were introduced.

Culture and Literature

-Iran Pen Association organized the 20th edition of its annual Golden Pen Awards on Tuesday evening while no books were winners in the categories of Adult Story and Review and Research.

-“A Girl in Exile”, a novel by Albanian writer Ismail Kadare, has been published in Persian by Chatrang in Tehran. First published in Albanian in 2009, the book has been translated into Persian by Mahmud Gudarzi.

-“Ibn Tufayl: Living the Life of Reason” by Taneli Kukkonen, a professor of philosophy at NYU Abu Dhabi, has been published in Persian. Naamak is the publisher of the book rendered into Persian by Parisa Sajjadi.

-The Children's Book Council of Iran announced its shortlist for the 2024 Hans Christian Andersen Award on Tuesday.

-The unveiling ceremony of the novel "Rebel" written by Hossein Pakdel was held on Thursday, July 16.

Architecture

-The first interactive meeting "expanding the cooperation of the community of urban planning engineers of Iran with the representatives of the international community of urban planning" along with the ceremony of concluding the memorandum of cooperation was held today at 15:00 in the virtual space.

-The second meeting of Children's Utopia on the topic of "The influence of interior architecture on children's creative minds" with a speech by Arthur Omidazri; architect and university lecturer; and Mohammad Behzadpour; architect and researcher; It was held in Andisheh Cultural Center.
