Organized by Iran’s Culture and Islamic Guidance Ministry, the show opened at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art on March 12, and will continue until May 8.

The exhibition features the works by prominent artists including Javad Bakhtiari, Banafsheh Mesripour, Ahmad Esfandiari, Sohrab Sepehri, Ahmad Vakili, Bahram Dabiri, Mohammad-Baqer Aqamiri, Bahman Mohasses and Mehdi Hosseini.

The museum has borrowed some artworks from collectors for the showcase.

The exhibition borrows its title from the ‘Khamseh,’ Nezami’s pentalogy, which is also known as ‘Panj Ganj’.

Iranian culture minister aide Mahmoud Shaloui, who is also the director of a commemoration program for Nezami, attended the opening ceremony of the event.

Iran commemorated Nezami Ganjavi in a weeklong program which began on March 12.

Nezami Ganjavi was a 12th-century Persian poet. In Persian literature, he is considered the greatest romantic epic poet, who brought a colloquial and realistic style to the Persian epic. His heritage is also widely appreciated and shared by Afghanistan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan.
