Khosravian could not attend the exhibition and her fellow illustrator Alireza Golduzian, who will judge the next edition of the exhibit next year, received the award on her behalf.

A Chinese illustrator won first prize and three artists from China, Russia and Latvia shared second prize.

Iranian illustrators Nasim Azadi, Golriz Gorgani, Elham Kazemi, Fatemeh Khosravian, Hamideh Khosravian, Mehrnush Masumian and Zahra Sarmashqi were also among the finalists competing at the exhibition, which opened on August 22 on the sidelines of the Beijing International Book Fair (BIBF) and came to an end on Friday.
