Hosseini gave a performance during the 7th Regional Music Festival at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall in May 2011 when he was at 117. He also received a lifetime achievement award at the festival.

Aref Mohammadi spent two years making the documentary “The Song of God”.

Hosseini was born in 1894 in the western Iranian city of Kermanshah. He passed away in 2014.

He learned to play the tambur from his father, Seyyed Tarimorad, when he was a child. He brushed up his performance skills by attending classes held by his elder brother, Seyyed Salman, and his uncle, Seyyed Baba Hossein.
