Bonhams London auction welcomes spring with several online events, and in the meantime, Iranian artists have a colorful presence in Bonhams online auction. An exhibition entitled "New Day, New Wave" curated by Fereydoun Av will be held on the Bonhams website on February 18, featuring 57 works by 31 Iranian artists. Designed to introduce young Iranian artists, the play introduces the achievements of contemporary Iranian artists to international collectors on the eve of the Iranian solar New Year and the celebration of Nowruz.

In ancient Persian, Mythology Norouz celebrates the saving of the earth from the darkness of winter by the light of spring. On the eve of the Iranian New Year, I have teamed up with Bonhams to shine a light on the achievements of Iranian artists of all ages living and working in a country that can sometimes seem obscure and “in the dark” for international collectors, Fereydoun Ave said.

In this event, works by Zabiollah Mohammadi, Ali Razghandi, Mohammad Piryaee, Amirhossein Akbari Alavijeh, Masoud Mirzaei, Reza Lavassani, Mostafa Sarabi, Haydeh Ayazi, Amir Farhad, M. Smart, Soheil Mokhtar, Najme Pashaee, Shahla Hosseini, Shamseddin Ghazi, Soheil Mokhtar,  Niaz Babatabar,  Afshan Daneshvar, Fereydoon Omidi,  Reza Lavassani, Kaveh Najmabadi, Mahmoud Saki, Shamsedin Ghazi,  Poorang Pirataei, Sara Abbasian, Nariman Farrokhi, Ashkan Sanaie have been screened and the auction of these works will be held online on March 10th.

The other Bonhams online auction is dedicated to modern and contemporary Middle Eastern art and currently works by artists from Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, etc. are displayed on the Bonhams website.

Iranian artists are also present at the event and work by Reza Derakshani, Parviz Kalantari, Mohammad Ehsai, Parviz Kalantari, Fereydoun Hoveyda, Golnaz Fathi, Massoud Arabshahi, Sadegh Tirafkan, Saqi, Ardeshir Mohasses, Ali Shirazi, etc. are currently on display at the Bonhams website.

The online auction of modern and contemporary Middle Eastern art will be held on March 10th. At a time like this, last year, many art events were suspended due to the outbreak of coronary disease, and international auctions, with repeated relocations of their events, were finally held online in the spring to move the art economy alive.

The Bonhams Modern and Contemporary Middle East Art Auction were also held in person in the fall of 2020, following health protocols. It ended with a total sale of 2,490,205 pounds. The auction also featured 51 works by 19 Iranian artists, 35 of which sold for 276,065 pounds.
