Produced by the Zendeghi Theater Company and the Sun Ergos Theater Company, the performance art played on stage in the Theater Encounter of Calgary on April 24-25.
Robert Greenwood is the casting director of The Chairs. The main players are Mohammad Rahmani, A’zam Shokoufepour as well as 8 Canadian artists. Behind-the-scene crew members include Saeed Abek, Farshad Nedai, Reza Mikailzadeh, Masoumeh Arvaz, Sadat Rahimi and Amin Sheikhi.
Last year, Mahyari staged The Chairs in Italy. He also staged plays and organized international theater workshops in collaboration with the German Newpaltz School of Fine and the Performing Arts and French Le Kiosque Theater Company, in Iran, Germany and France.
Founded in 2010, the Zendegi Theater Company/Institute has held numerous international theater workshops, and collaborated with performing art companies and experts from France, Germany, Canada, Croatia and Belgium.
