The meeting was attended, among others, by Iran's Cultural Attaché in Moscow Qahreman Soleimani, Director of the Russian-Austrian Forum Maria Matveeva and President of Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation in Moscow Hamid Hadavi, according to a Wednesday report by the information center of Iran's Islamic Culture and Relations Organization, IRNA wrote.
The talks were held in the context of a plan presented by Andrei Fursenko, an aide to Russian President Vladimir Putin, for holding a joint conference attended by Iranian and Russian historians to discuss the background and processes of cooperation between the two countries and the prospect of collaborations in the near future.
The two sides discussed different aspects of the plan in the meeting.
Soleimani expressed hope that the talks would positively impact cultural relations between the two countries.
Commenting on the achievements of his foundation, Hadavi said Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation cooperates regularly with Russian scientific and cultural centers.
At the meeting, the Russian officials also commented on the issue and confirmed their willingness to hold joint conferences on cultural topics.
The framework of Fursenko's plan includes the background and main processes of cooperation between Iran and Russia in the last few centuries and the prospect of bilateral relations between the two states in the near future.
The plan is expected to be finalized after the holding of a scientific conference in the near future.
Last year, the first round of cultural talks between Iranian and Russian scientific and cultural figures was held with a focus on Fursenko’s plan and its framework.
The two sides agreed to hold regular discussions on the implementation of the plan.
