She said that the Persian Language group was established in 1990 at the institute, and has attracted many students who are eager to study the literary works of the great Persian poets and authors, including Ferdowsi, Saadi, Khayyam, Rumi, Rudaki and Anwari.

She also mentioned the cooperation agreement between Devletmammet Azadi Institute and Iran’s Ferdowsi University, calling for the expansion of scientific and cultural cooperation.

In his speech, Ambassador Arbab-Khales thanked the Turkmen officials for holding the ceremony and said that language students are the ones who realize the expansion of ties between the two nations in different areas, including trade and industry.

The author of ‘Shahnameh,’ the world’s longest epic poem created by a single poet, Ferdowsi (940-1020) is celebrated as one of the most influential figures in Persian literature. The poet continues to revive national and epic stories and the history of Iran, and breathe new life into Persian language and literature. Therefore, he enjoys a lofty status and is venerated as Iran’s national poet.
