Imam Khamenei referred to the general arrangement and structure of culture based on order and revolutionary content as the only means of immunization against the cultural and media invasion by the malevolent outsiders. The full text of the decree is:
In the Name of God, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Praise be to God and peace be upon his Prophet, Mustafa, and his pure family (may God’s peace be upon them all),
Entering the second forty years of the Islamic Revolution, which is simultaneous with the new century in Solar Calendar, makes it essential to take a new critical and refreshed approach toward a set of civilizational infrastructures. Culture guides all fundamental, infrastructural measures of human communities and accelerates these measures or slows them down.
At this point, this approach primarily points to the need for promoting one’s views and feeling of responsibility of the cultural authorities and the elite and activists in different fields toward the issue of culture and the formation of the deep belief that culture creation in any civilizational component of the community is the best means of its development and success protecting it against the forced and domineering tools.
Additionally, it addresses the important point that the general arrangement of culture, in all its extensive areas, requires a revolutionary order and content. This is the only means of immunizing the country’s general culture against the enemies’ planned cultural and media invasion.
From the very beginning, the mission of the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution was to organize the status of culture and knowledge in the country, develop policies in these two areas, guide the responsible organizations toward the values and goals of the Revolution, satisfy the intellectual needs of the organizations, and assume the role of a cultural headquarter.
The Supreme Council has presented valuable services in these fields and I think it necessary to express my sincere gratitude to all its respectable members who have played an influential role in different periods particularly the scholars and professors who will be no longer present in the Council in the new round and ask them to continue providing consultative advice to the Council.
Now, for the new round, which will begin upon the issuance of this writing, I hereby appoint the following legal and real persons as the members of the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution.
Legal persons: For now, legal persons include the chiefs of the three powers and the institutions that have been members of the Supreme Council.
Real persons: Mr. A’raafi, Iman Eftekhari, Amir-Hossein Bankipour Fard, Hamid Parsania, Adel Peyghami, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel, Hassan Rahimpour Azqadi, Ali Akbar Rashad, Hossein Sa’ee, Ibrahim Souzanchi, Saeed-Reza Ameli, Mansour Kabkanian, Ali Larijani, Mahmoud Mohammadi Eraqi, Mohammad-Reza Dezfouli, Morteza Mir-Bagheri, Sadegh Vaez-Zadeh, and Ahmad Vaezi.
There are important points attached to this decree, which will be presented to the respectable appointed members. I ask God the Almighty for the success of all of you.
