Najmabadi is well-known for writing and directing short films. He has directed several short films such as ‘Peace,’ ‘Copper Wire,’ ‘Ant,’ ‘77 Years of Solitude,’ ‘Red Season,’ ‘Into the Rainbow,’ ‘White Season’ and ‘Aparat,’ and won several international awards, IRNA reported.

In 2019, he was among the jury members of the same Indian festival.

He was a member of the jury panel of the 15th Cyprus International Film Festival, the 14th Red Rock Film Festival in the US, the 11th Bridges International Film Festival and the 7th Blackbird Film Festival in the US.

The JIFF has been held annually in Jaipur, India since 2009, receiving more than 2,200 films every year, and screening 250 films from different countries at its various sections.
