Artists Forum

  • Tehran, Kish Island and the cities of Shiraz, Babol, Isfahan, Kerman, Mashhad and Tabriz are hosting the European Film Week 2019 until June 17. The festival screens 20 movies. A number of Iranian and European filmmakers, cultural figures and diplomats attended the opening ceremony in the Iranian Artists Forum on Saturday. The European Film Week is organized as a collaborative effort between Iran’s Art and Experience Cinema and the European Union National Institutes for Culture (EUNIC).

  • It is considered a significant cultural event for Iranians to commemorate the great Persian poet Ferdowsi and celebrate Persian Language Day. The Iranian Artists Forum organized a special event to commemorate Ferdowsi. Literary figures and officials addressed the gathering on Wednesday.

  • A pottery exhibition by a group of Iranian artists is underway at the Artists Forum until 1 January. Persian pottery or Iranian pottery refers to the pottery works made by the artists of Persia and its history goes back to early Neolithic Age (7th millennium BCE).

  • Fans, colleagues and friends gathered for a ceremony on Tuesday at the Iranian Artists Forum to honor actor Jamshid Mashayekhi. Mashayekhi began professional acting on stage in 1957. His first feature film role was Brick and Mirror (1965, Ebrahim Golestan). He then acted in The Cow (1969, Dariush Mehrjui) and Kaiser (Qeysar) (1969, Masoud Kimiai). Mashayekhi commonly appears as an elderly grandfather because of his white hair and charismatic face and figure. He received a best performance award for The Grandfather (1985, Majid Gharizadeh) from the First Festival of Non-aligned Countries in North Korea.

  • Artists and fans gathered at the Iranian Artists Forum in Tehran to pay their tributes to Morteza Momayez on his Thirteenth death anniversary Friday night. Morteza Momayez was an Iranian graphic designer. He was one of the founders of Iranian Graphic Design Society and held a membership to Alliance Graphique Internationale.
