"Starless Dreams" by Iranian producer, director and screenwriter of documentary films Mehrdad Oskui was awarded Teen Dox Award for the best film in the international competition of the 13th ZagrebDox 2017.

The festival took place on February 26 to March 5.

Mehrdad Oskouei held a master class on March 1 in Kaptol Boutique Cinema 5. In the master class he talked more about challenges in making his last documentary film "Starless Dreams" which is about young teenagers girls in Iran’s detention system.

"Starless Dreams" has received several awards like the Grierson Prize for Best Documentary Feature at the 60th BFI London Film Festival in 2016, Children’s Rights Award at the 31st Osnabruck Independent Film Festival.

In 2010, Oskouei received the Dutch Prince Claus Award for his achievements.

Oskui's "Starless Dream" Recently screened in the Documentary Views category of the 40th Portland International Film Festival on February 9 to 25.

Georgian-German film "The Dazzling Light of Sunset" by Salomé Jashi, the film "21 x New York" by Piotr Stasik and "Communion "by Anna Zamecka, Serbian-French film "Depth Two" by Ognjen Glavonić, Lisbeth Kovačić , Bulgarian film "Village People" by Tsvetan Dragnev, Polish film "Close Ties" by Zofia Kowalewska, the Russian film "Holy God" by Vladlena Sandu, and "Déjà vu" byJon Bang Carslen were awarded at the ceremony.
