Iran’s Culture and Islamic Guidance Minister Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili said that step-by-step education in the field of art in less-privileged areas should lead to employment and boosting the economy of culture.

Esmaeili made the statement on Sunday, in a ceremony to unveil 15 schoolbooks on art and culture and honor two top individuals in the recently held university entrance exam, Kianaz Shaterian and Ardavan Safarpour, and one veteran artist, Hossein Niktalab.

Development of art education within the framework of the cultural justice approach is on the agenda of the government, he said.

He stated that the ministry prioritizes the development of fine art conservatories, adding that Iran’s big cities require at least one conservatory.

Based on the cultural justice approach, some free art courses will be carried out in less privileged areas, Esmaeili noted.
