‘Children of the Nation,’ which is the first book of Martyr Mohammad-Ali Rajaei’s memoirs, was translated and published in Spanish under the title of ‘El Hijo Del Pueblo’ on the anniversary of his martyrdom (August 30).

The translation is the outcome of cooperation between Iran’s Rah-e Yar publication and New York -based Lantern Publications with the aim of familiarizing the Spanish-speaking audience with Rajaei’s lifestyle, IRNA wrote.

The book is compiled and translated by Seyyed Abbas Mousavi. Maria Rojas from Colombia and Seyyed Saeed Shahmoradi edited the Spanish translation of the book.

The 172-page Spanish book includes the memories of Shahid Rajaei in his home and family environment, his work, his efforts and struggles during his prison term in the previous regime, memories of his time as a teacher, his personality traits, his simple lifestyle, letters and speeches.

President Mohammad Ali Rajaei and Prime Minister Mohammad Javad Bahonar were assassinated in an explosion orchestrated by the terrorist Mojahedin-e Khalq (MEK) group on August 30, 1981.

The assassination came 39 days after Rajaei won the votes of the majority of Iranians in an early election and had become the second president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, after Abol-Hasan Bani-Sadr, who had fled to Europe after being voted out by the parliament. Rajaei served as the prime minister under Bani-Sadr.

Rajaei and Bahonar, who knew each other for 20 years and were very active in the anti-Shah campaign, stood shoulder to shoulder after the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
