According to Mehr News Agency, the festival will be held with the aim of strengthening the singing movement and promoting the epic song, ‘Hello Commander’ (in Persian: Salam Farmandeh).
On Eid al-Ghadir (July 18), the TV network called for all interested people to send their dramatic, literary, visual and musical artworks which are related to the epic song.
The deadline for submitting artworks will be October 6. There will be no limitation in the language of the works.
Winners will be announced and awarded on October 17, concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
The song was produced by Abouzar Rouhi, who rose to national, if not international, prominence for his tuneful song, though he isn’t a singer in the true sense of the word.
The song features a child who was born after 2011 and is speaking to Imam Mahdi, the last of 12 Imams in Shia eschatology, who has been living in occultation ever since 941. It also addresses the current Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, whose political position is deeply rooted in occultation-related theology.
The song masterfully blurs the lines between addressing the Imam Mahdi and Ayatollah Khamenei.
