Cinema
-The Asia Society in New York, a non-profit organization that focuses on educating the world about Asia, has initiated a program on Iranian documentary film
-The Iranian short film, ‘Bubble,’ directed by Hamed Arib, won three awards from the jury in the Gralha International Monthly Film Awards (GIMFA) in Brazil.
-Iranian short film ‘Identibye’ was honored at the Festival Internacional de Santo Domingo Mujeres en Corto in the Dominican Republic.
-Filmmaker Mahmud Asadi has put top Islamic philosopher Mohammadreza Hakimi under the microscope in a documentary.
-The Iranian short documentary ‘Snoring’ directed by Sara Abedi won the best artist work award from the 25th Fresh International Film Festival.
-The first cineplx of Hamedan Province opened on Tuesday.
Fashion
- The permanent secretariat of the Fajr Festival of Handicrafts and Traditional Arts was set up in the historical mansion of Kooshk, West Asia Regional Office of the World Handicrafts Council.
Visual Arts
-The Niavaran Cultural-Historical Complex honored prominent cartoonist Javad Alizadeh for lifetime achievements on Sunday.
-An exhibition titled, ‘1,000 Years of Writing Holy Qur’an,’ is being held at Tehran’s Sa’dabad Historical Complex. Director of the 29th International Holy Qur’an Exhibition Alireza Mo’af, Mohammad-Jalil Rasouli, Yadollah Kaboli, and Seyyed Ali Taheri attended the opening ceremony.
-Sculpture of Asghar Mohammadi, designer of the Children's Book Council badge, was awarded to the Graphic Museum of Iran.
-Sculptures made by Hadi Fallahpisheh were installed in Dallas.
-Idea Gallery, on the occasion of World Graphic Design Day, displayed a collection of posters of the world's leading designers.
-Last week, Tehran galleries hosted13 new exhibitions in various fields of visual arts.
Theater
-Sangelaj Theatre in Tehran host three ta’zieh (Iranian Passion play on religious events) performances to mark the mourning ceremonies of ‘Laylat al-Qadr’. The performances held on April 21.
-The Iftar gathering of the ambassadors and cultural advisors of Islamic countries was hosted by the Roudaki Foundation in the Vahdat Hall.
Music
-Iranian Kamancheh virtuoso Kayhan Kalhor has resumed live international performances with a concert in Belgium on Monday.
-The master class of the German composer Wolfgang Wengnerot Orchestra and conductor of the first performance of the Tehran Symphony Orchestra was held.
-Makanband group two times went on stage on April 17 in Milad Hall of the International Exhibition.
Culture and Literature
-Top works published on the Islamic Revolution over the past year were honored during the second edition of the Islamic Revolution History Book Awards.
-The 29th International Holy Qur’an Exhibition opened on Saturday, coinciding with the birth anniversary of Imam Hassan (PBUH), the second Imam of Shia Muslims.
-A new Persian translation of popular contemporary Japanese writer Haruki Murakami’s 2020 book “First Person Singular: Stories” has come to Iranian bookstores.
-The 74th Frankfurt Book Fair, slated to be held from October 19 to 23, will open with Iran’s presence.
- A Persian language course kicks off in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat.
-Persian literati came together on Wednesday in an international webinar to celebrate Sadi, one of the giants of classic Persian poetry and literature.
-Iran’s great poet Saadi was commemorated in a virtual program on Wednesday. The program is organized by Iran’s Embassy in Tajikistan,
-A Persian language course kicks off in Turkmenistan’s capital, Ashgabat. A total of 415 Persian language enthusiasts at different ages and levels are learning in this course.
Architecture
-Issue 132 of the special architectural bimonthly of Farvardin and Ordibehesht 1401 was published.
-Online meeting "Dimensions of children living in dysfunctional urban contexts with emphasis on the importance of involving them in the process of urban development" was held.
