Iranians across the country hold ceremonies to mark ‘Laylat al-Qadr’ or the Night of Destiny in mausoleums and mosques on the 21st day of the holy lunar month of Ramadan. In Islamic belief, the first verses of the Holy Qur’an were revealed to Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on this night, which coincides with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (PBUH), the first Imam of Shia Muslims.

The theatre hall began hosting ta’zieh performances for the first time in 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the country the performances were stopped.

At present, Iran’s success in controlling the COVID-19 pandemic has made the hall resume its theatrical programs.

The performances will be held on April 21, 23, and 25.
