Seyyed Abbas Mirhashemi made the statement during the press conference of the festival held on Tuesday at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art, IRNA reported.

This edition of the festival will host 10,862 artworks by 4,345 artists, Mirhashemi noted.

He also said that among the contenders, 2,560 female artists submitted their works to the festival, which is almost twice the number of male artists (1,785).

The Iranian capital, Tehran has by far the highest number of participants (1,473) in comparison with other provinces (2,872).

The festival, due to its various subjects and sections, interacts with a wide range of artists, and that is why it receives high attention in the realm of the country's visual events, Mirhashemi added.

The festival consists of 10 sections, having three jury members for each, he noted, adding that there are four side sections to cover all visual art topics.

The exhibition titled, ‘Mirrored Reflections,’ was also held as a side event at the 14th festival in the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.

The festival will be held at the Iranian Academy of the Arts in Tehran from February 4 to 19.
