The deadline for sending the works ended on December 19.

The submitted works include 153 fiction and 48 experimental films.

Supervised by Marjan Ashrafizadeh, the festival will be held in Tehran in the next Iranian year (to start on March 21, 2022).

The secretariat said 88 films will directly go to the competition and evaluation, 113 films will be reviewed and reintroduced and 20 films will be sent for the final competition.

Iranian director Mahyar Mandegar’s ‘White Winged Horse’ received nominations in eight categories, including best film and best director, at the 11th edition of the festival.

The film received the Best Film Award of the 2020 edition.
