Directed by Iranian filmmaker Navid Esmaeili, ‘Pakol’ is set to be submitted to the upcoming Fajr Film Festival in February.

It is the second feature by Esmaeili, following his 2020 debut, ‘Maman Mahshid’.

Other high-profile actors are expected to join the project within the next few days.

‘Pakol’ is the story of Amir whose view toward his routine life has changed.

Having made his debut with Abolhassan Davoudi’s 2002 film, ‘Bread, Love, Motorcycle 1000’, Mehranfar is best known for his roles in ‘Cease-Fire’ (2006), directed by Tahmineh Milani; Abdolreza Kahani’s ‘Nothing’ (2010); ‘Trapped,’ directed by Parviz Shahbazi (2013); as well as Asghar Farhadi’s 2009 masterpiece, ‘About Elly’.

He has also costarred in the hit Iranian TV series ‘The Capital’ since 2011.

Among the crew of ‘Pakol’ are producer Gholamreza Azadi; Vahid Esmaeili and Amir Youshi as screenwriters, with Shahram Najjarian as the director of cinematography.
