During the meeting, Tabatabaei called the Matenadaran as one of the most important cultural and scientific resources in Armenia, which accommodates a unique treasure trove of Iran and other countries’ manuscripts in the South Caucasus, adding that the institute is like a window to the mysterious world of Iranian arts and culture, IRNA reported.
Iran’s cultural attaché added that the development of ties with this Armenian center is one of the priorities of Iran’s Embassy in Yerevan.
Referring to the joint programs, the Iranian official announced the preparation of a workshop for the restoration of Persian manuscripts by one of the leading Iranian professors in Matenadaran.
Tabatabaei also considered the realization of this purpose as an important step in protecting the valuable Iranian works of the Armenian center.
Ter-Ghevondian appreciated the cooperation between Iranian Embassy and the Armenian center, noting that implementation of this program is an important step in the preservation of valuable Iranian works kept in Armenia.
