Four postal museums will be inaugurated in different cities of Iran on the eve of the International Museum Day (May 18), said the head of the Post and Communications Museum.

Hassan Amidi added that the second Post-Museum-School of the world will be opened in Delgan County in Iran’s southern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, IRNA wrote.

The museum director said that the first Post-Museum-School is located in Rasht, in Iran’s northern province of Gilan.

Two other postal museums will be inaugurated in Sabzevar (Iran’s northeastern province of Khorasan Razavi) and Zanjan (Iran’s northwestern province of Zanjan).

The fourth to-be-opened museum will be Chapar Khaneh County in Meybod, Iran’s central province of Yazd.

Amidi said that educating children and adolescents in various fields of communications and media, including the promotion of media literacy and communications skills are among the programs that will be carried out.

A selection of stamps, before and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution, and a collection of envelopes and rare foreign letters, as well as old museum items in the field of communications will be showcased in the museums.
