Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad-Mehdi Esmaeili said that festivals will be improved, not closed down, since they will pave the way for expansion of Iranian arts and culture.

He added that the government makes attempts to facilitate cultural activities for all Iranians.

He said, “Undoubtedly, we will try to decrease artists’ worries, as far as possible.”

He explained that the examination of damages that have occurred for Iran’s arts and cultural community is on the ministry’s agenda.

Speaking about discrimination in cultural activities, the minister said, “We do not allow arts and culture to be concentrated in certain areas of the country. We will provide the ground for equitable access to cultural activities.”

Establishing art centers, the development of music and holding provincial festivals provide an opportunity for art prosperity in the country.

He mentioned the Iran Music House, Theater Forum and House of Cinema as three important organizations playing important parts in the development of cultural events.
