In a message on Friday, Salehi praised “the hardworking character and work ethics” of the late Iranian actor, whose “professional, creative, and impressive vision created an emotional bond between him and the art-loving people of Iran,” IRNA reported.

Soleimani was laid to rest in Tehran’s Behesht-e Zahra cemetery on Friday.

Meanwhile, Abdol-Ali Ali-Asgari, the head of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), shared his sorrow with Soleimani’s family, adding, “He will always be remembered by his energetic appearances on the screen.”

Mohammad-Ali Esmaeili, the proposed minister for culture and Islamic guidance by President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi, said, “Soleimani will always remain in the hearts and minds of Iranians for his smiling face,” while he added, “I’ll miss him even more by watching his various roles in different movies and TV series.”

Having started his career as a theatrical performer in 1994, he made his first movie appearance in Rasoul Mollaqolipour’s ‘Safar (Journey) to Chazzabeh’ a year later.

He was best known for his roles in Bahram Beizaei’s ‘Killing Rabids’ (2001), ‘Bi Pooli’ (2009), directed by Hamid Nematollah, and Bahram Tavakolli’s 2018 drama ‘The Lost Strait’.

He also costarred in Nematollah’s TV series ‘Vaziat-e Sefid’, released in 2011.
