The exhibit, organized by photography magazine, Image of the Year, in collaboration with the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, first started on March 29, before being halted due to COVID-19 restrictions in the Iranian capital.

The exhibition contains 120 photographs, 15 posters, and 15 cartoons, with the subject of traditional ceremonies celebrating the Persian New Year in Iran, Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and China.

The date of the award ceremony is yet to be announced by the organizers.

The first issue of Image monthly magazine was published in 1992, by Seifollah Samadian, with the help of the late Iranian graphic designer, Morteza Momayyez, and veteran cinematographer Mahmoud Kalari.

Since 2002, the magazine has been issued annually, which includes the best artworks represented at the Image of the Year Festival, as well as photos of some of the most significant incidents in Iran and all over the world in the previous Iranian year.
