The cooperation was emphasized during a meeting between Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Madrid Mohammad-Mehdi Ahmadi and the directors of the Spanish library, Araceli García Martín and Luisa Mora Viarkho.

In this meeting, Shia reference books in the Spanish and English languages were gifted to the Spanish library.

Referring to the few numbers of Shia reference books in the Spanish library, Ahmadi said that Iran will help the library complete its archive of Shia books.

Scholars from different religions and countries refer to this library’s books and references to conduct research, and it is a good idea that the library’s archive is complete in this regard, Ahmadi added.

He also expressed hope that cultural programs with the participation of this library will be held soon.

Martín highlighted Iran’s rich culture, saying it is one of the themes taught at schools in Spain.

Luisa Mora Viarkho also proposed that regular and quarterly webinars be held among the officials of the Islamic Library of Spain and Islamic libraries in Iran to exchange experiences and knowledge.

It was also decided to add the keywords, ‘Iran,’ ‘Iranian culture,’ and ‘Persia’ in the cataloging of books so that people could easily access resources related to Iran and the Persian language in their research.
