Directed by Mohammadreza Ahanj, ‘I Am Iranian’ managed to scoop the best film award in the fiction competition of “SPORT MOVIES & TV 2018 -  36th Milano International FICTS Festival in Italy.

The film stars retired Iranian wrestler and seven-time Asian champion, Alireza Heidari, and depicts the story of his life.

Other Iranian movies that participated at the festival included 'My Sister Mohadeseh' by Atefeh Mehrabi and 'Iran plus Two Powers' and 'Sniff', both directed by Farzaneh Amini.

FICTS - Federation Internationale Cinema Television Sportifs, headquartered in Milan (Italy), joined with 116 Member Countries, is the only Federation of Industry Recognized by the International Olympic Committee for which it promotes the values of sport through the images.

‘SPORT MOVIES & TV 2018 – 36th Milano International FICTS Fest’ was held under the slogan ‘FICTS Is Culture through sport’ in the Italian city from 14th to 19th November 2018.
