“The guests coming from India, Iraq, Bangladesh and several other countries are scheduled to attend an international seminar on promoting the Persian language,” the director of the Iranian Center for the Study of Hafez, Kavus Hassanli, said in a press conference on Wednesday.

“A number of Iranian scholars will join the guests to discuss the role of Persian literature in creating unity between Iranian people and other Persian-speaking nations, review the status of the Persian language outside the country, and find methods to promote Persian,” he said.

The status of literature in the country and presenting proper approaches to improve its position will also be reviewed at the three-day seminar.

A string of cultural programs, including workshops, exhibits and book fairs, will also be organized on the sidelines of the colloquium.

Two prominent Persian scholars are due to be honored with lifetime achievement awards on the closing day of the seminar at the Hafez Hall on Friday.
