Works by master miniaturist Mahmud Farshchian, calligraphers Mohammad Ehsai, Gholamhossein Amirkhani, Yadollah Kaboli, Esrafil Shirchi, and Javad Bakhtiari, painter Ali-Akbar Sadeqi and several other artists have been selected for the exhibit named “Frame of Manifestation”.

Speaking at the opening ceremony on Friday, IAF director Majid Rajabi-Memar praised the secretary of the exhibit, Mahmud As’adi, for his great efforts in organizing the showcase with artworks on the theme of the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war, which is known as the Sacred Defense in Iran.

As’adi also called the exhibit a good opportunity for the young generation to get to know the elite artists.

He lamented that ordinary people cannot purchase works by these masters to hang in their homes, and added, “It is not motivating when the masters’ works are only found in private collections since they are collected only for investment and would be rarely seen by the public.”

The exhibit will be running until October 7 at the Forum located on Musavi St., off Taleqani Ave.

The Eternal Figures in various fields of art and science were selected annually during the Eternal Figures Gathering by the Iranian Science and Culture Hall of Fame in collaboration with Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting. The gathering has not been organized over the past few years.
