He was admitted at Firuzgar Hospital last week for a stroke, the Persian news websites announced.
Born in the western Iranian city of Hamedan, he established a periodical named “Hamedan in Pictures” with the support of his brother, Hassan, in the early 1960s. The magazine covers cultural news and materials about luminaries of Hamedan.
He then left his hometown to receive an education at an academy of visual arts in Tehran.
Sandoqi created illustration for many Persian translations of novels such as Jules Verne’s novel “The Children of Captain Grant”, “Journey to the Center of the Earth” and “Master of the World”, Mark Twain’s “The Prince and the Pauper” and Lewis Wallace’s “Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ”.
