Organized under the auspices of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, the event promotes films on topics related to healthcare, a common concern of the masses across continents. It seeks to highlight the role and significance of health in human life.

The festival includes sections for feature films, documentaries, short films and TV shows. It has received a total of 809 entries and selected works will be screened.

Documentary section of the festival will screen 34 films, selected from among 209 submissions, Azad News Agency reported on its Persian website. Entries include 46 short films and 22 student films in the competition section.

Winners in all categories will receive awards. The screening venue is yet to be announced. The previous round of the festival was held last August at Charsou Cineplex in downtown Tehran.
