He termed key role of media in ethnic convergence and national unity among various ethnic groups in particular as ‘essential’.
In the current situation where enemies of the country are trying their utmost efforts to undermine unity and amity of people, maintaining convergence, national unity and amity in the country especially among ethnic group is of paramount importance, the culture minister emphasized.
As cradle of civilizations, Islamic Republic of Iran has always been considered as the hub of consolidation, unity and amity among various ethnic groups, he said, adding, “Iranian ethnic groups have always maintained the territorial integrity of the Islamic Iran.”
Turning to his recent trip to Sistan-Baluchestan province, he said, “a joint cultural and artistic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was inked between the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and Sistan-Baluchestan province’s governor-generalship, so that provinces of the country enjoy high artistic and cultural potentials, the issue of which should be taken into serious consideration."
A part of Iran’s symbol of identity lies in the provinces, so, short- and long-term programs should be planned in cultural and artistic fields in order to promote and introduce rich culture and civilization of Islamic Iran in the international level, the culture minister emphasized.
Clarifying capacity of ethnicities, respecting various ethnic groups in the country, emphasizing the role and status of ethnic groups in strengthening cultural diplomacy are of the measures that media can play active and constructive role in this regard in the field of national convergence and solidarity.
