It has its own brand of humor and its own world that is palpable, she told the Persian service of MNA on Monday.

She added that American people will undoubtedly welcome such a story.

There has been a distance between Iran and America for years, said Croskery and added that this issue has resulted in a paucity of published information about Iranian culture, traditions and beliefs in the country where people are eager to learn a lot about Iranians.

Croskery said that many works from world literature have been translated into Persian and she believes that Iranians are current on world literature.

It’s time to make the world to learn about Persian literature and Iranian thoughts, she noted.

Among the Persian books translated into English by Croskery are “Stillness in a Storm”, a poetry collection by Saeid Ramezani, and “A Vital Killing”, a collection of short stories from the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq war by Ahmad Dehqan.

She is also the translator of Seyyed Mehdi Shojaei’s “Democracy or Demo Crazy” and “In the Twinkling of an Eye” and Hushang Moradi Kermani’s “You’re No Stranger Here”, “The Water Urn” and “A Sweet Jam”.
