The 12th edition of the festival which has been named after Russian filmmaker Andrei Tarkovsky was held in Yuryevets, Ivanovo region in Russia from June 12 to 17.

“No Date, No Signature” tells the story of Dr. Nariman, a forensic pathologist who has a car accident with a motorcyclist and injures his 8-year-old son.

The film was competing with eight other films from Russia, Serbia, Germany, Georgia, China and several other countries.

The film has won several international awards including the special jury prize at the Belgrade International Film Festival – FEST in Serbia in March 2018.

Also in November 2017, the film won the FIPRESCI Jury Award at the 19th Bratislava International Film Festival in Slovakia, while it also brought the best actor award for the film’s star Navid Mohammadzadeh.

Tarkovsky is considered to be one of the greatest movie directors of the 20th century who created his own cinematic language and philosophy.

In 2007 to honor Tarkovsky’s 75th birth anniversary, the Ivanovo Oblast government, supported by the presidential administration, ministry of culture and the Russia Filmmakers Union, launched the International Film Festival “Zerkalo” after the celebrated director’s movie of the same name (Mirror).
