The digital video artwork has been borrowed from the Sacred Defense Museum. The Palais de Tokyo is a building dedicated to modern and contemporary art, located at 13 avenue du Président-Wilson, near the Trocadéro, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris.
Hamidreza Pejman, founder of Pejman Foundation, said: The project is in collaboration with contemporary artist Neïl Beloufa. His works have been put on display in places like MoMA (New York), Ludwig (Cologne), Hammer (Los Angeles), ICA (Shanghai) and K11 (Los Angeles). Our foundation also played host to his exhibit.
He added: The current show is dubbed Enemy of My Enemy, featuring modern global warfare, such as memorials, war museums and political propaganda. Other items on display include current events, ads and video games. They depict a constant battle between the forces of good and evil.
According to Pejman, Beloufa has been invited to visit Tehran with a French team to do a joint project with the foundation. They are set to hold an exhibition, make a movie and give public speeches about art.
About the video art Khaniabad, he said: This work belongs to the Sacred Defense Museum. The digital video art by Emad Hosseini shows a few minutes of daily life in the Tehran district of Khaniabad during the Iran-Iraq war of 1980s. It’s in fact one of the best items of the museum.
In conclusion, he said: The idea is to help publicize and globalize the Sacred Defense Museum. The ultimate goal is to promote boarder cultural cooperation between Iran and other countries.
The Pejman Foundation is an Iranian nonprofit arts foundation, established by Hamidreza Pejman in 2015, to promote art in a space free of nationality and geographical boundaries, and to connect the common aspects of art and philosophy.
