To make batik works, selected areas of a piece of cloth are blocked out by brushing or drawing hot wax over them, and the cloth is then dyed. The parts covered in wax resist the dye and retain the original color. The technique originated in Indonesia. Gheibi has so far authored three books, two of them on apparel, including ‘History of Clothing Since Renaissance: Iran and the World’ and ‘Eight Thousand Years of Iranian Ethnic Clothing.Her other book ‘History of Paintings Since the Renaissance: Iran and the World.’ The venue is located at No. 1671, next to the Fereshteh branch of Book City, Shariati Avenue and the works will be displayed for ten days.
