TEHRAN – Eleven Iranian publishers, who are attending the 24th Beijing International Book Fair, have visited the Zhonghua Book Company in the Chinese capital, the Persian service of ILNA reported on Saturday.

A plan to edit and republish a rare version of a Chinese-Persian dictionary was discussed during the meeting, the Persian service of ILNA reported on Saturday.

They also talked about translating works by contemporary Iranian writers such as Gholam-Hossein Saedi and Sadeq Hedayat into Chinese, and publishing books on tourism and art based on mutual pacts.

The Zhonghua Book Company is a major Chinese publishing house that was founded in 1912 by a former manager of the Commercial Press, another publisher that had been established in 1897.

Dozens of cultural organizations, publishers and writers from Iran have attended the 24th Beijing International Book Fair, which will come to an end tomorrow.

Iran is the guest of honor at the book fair, and China will attend the Tehran International Book Fair as a guest of honor in 2019.
